Ambition North Wales 4G+ Public Sector Asset Improvement Grant Scheme - EOI

This grant helps public sector bodies in Wales upgrade assets to support 4G and 5G mobile networks. It can fund improvements to lighting columns, power supplies, structures, fibre, and ducting. Grants can cover up to 100% of eligible capital costs, up to £132,500. Once upgraded, assets must be made available to all mobile operators on an open access basis. Payments are made after work is completed, so you must be able to fund the project upfront and prove you have the cash to do so. The deadline to apply is 1 July 2029.

This grant is for public sector organisations in Wales that own assets such as lighting columns or structures that could host 4G or 5G mobile equipment. You must be able to fund the work upfront, as payments are made after completion. It is not for private businesses or organisations outside Wales.

The 4G+ Public Sector Asset Improvement Grant Scheme helps public sector organisations upgrade or replace existing assets so they can support 4G and 5G mobile infrastructure. This can include improving lighting columns, power supplies, access, structures, or fibre and ducting. Once upgraded, assets must be made available to mobile operators on a non‑exclusive, open access basis. Grants may fund up to 100% of eligible capital costs. However, grant payments are made in arrears. Applicants must therefore be able to cashflow project delivery and provide evidence of financial capacity to do so.
