As of 29 October 2026, GrantMatch lists 10 live grants for organisations in Cheshire. 3 close in the next 30 days, the first on 4 November 2026, 2 are open all year and 0 were added this week.

Last checked 28 October 2026.

Every grant on this page is limited to Cheshire or to a town, district or council area within it, as named by the funder. Funders with open grants here include Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire and Warrington Combined Authority (CWIP) and Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner. The Charity Service Cinderella Grants (respite and short breaks)

The Charity Service

Up to £3,000Health & Social Work, Charities & Non-Profit

Cinderella Grants from The Charity Service help pay for respite care, short breaks, holidays, out of school clubs and group activities for children and young people aged under 25. The children and young people must be sick, have special educational needs or disabilities, or be disadvantaged for another reason. The activity should give them a positive experience and give their parents, carers and family a short period of rest. You can apply as a registered charity, constituted community group or CIC. Professionals such as social workers and teachers can also apply on behalf of a child or young person. Grants are for residents of Greater Manchester, East Lancashire, North East Cheshire and North West Derbyshire. Individual applications can receive up to £1,000. Group applications can receive up to £3,000, although the average grant tends to be around £1,000. The next deadline is 4.00pm on 27 November 2026, and the grants committee meets on 18 December 2026. A later round closes at 4.00pm on 5 February 2027, with decisions on 26 February 2027. Further rounds for spring 2027 will be announced. Before you apply, contact Pete Yarwood to talk through your idea and get an application form. You only need basic information at this stage, and he can confirm whether you are eligible. Keep in mind that the funder will normally only pay for respite where the family cannot afford it, or where the local authority cannot provide it. Every application must be approved before the activity takes place, because grants are never paid retrospectively. Individual applications must be completed by a sponsor, such as a social worker, GP or teacher, who knows the family well. Official source: https://charityservice.org.uk/for-grant-applicants/. Sellafield Ltd Good Neighbour Grants

Sellafield Ltd (Nuclear Decommissioning Authority)

Up to £10,000Charities & Non-Profit

Sellafield Ltd Good Neighbour Grants are small grants of up to £10,000 for local projects near the Sellafield and Warrington sites. The money comes from the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, and Sellafield Ltd shares it out on the NDA's behalf. Your project should fit the Sellafield Ltd social impact strategy. Its four themes are resilient economies, thriving communities, sustainable incomes and sustainable growth. You will need to show the local need or opportunity your project tackles, the local support behind it, and the outcomes you expect. The grants suit charities and community groups, but other local organisations can apply too. These include state funded schools and pre-school groups, public sector bodies and companies, as long as the grant does not subsidise a business. Projects must be in Copeland, Allerdale or Warrington. In Copeland and Allerdale you can ask for up to £10,000. In Warrington the maximum is £5,000. The Good Neighbour panel decides on requests up to £5,000. The Social Impact team considers requests between £5,000 and £10,000. You can apply at any time. Requests are only considered when the committee meets. Small grants do not need a full business case, but you will need to give proof of spend and outcomes and send an end of project report. One practical caveat: the list of things it will not fund is long. It includes sports team sponsorship, animal welfare, religious or political benefit, retrospective projects and repeat requests in the same financial year. Building renovations and general improvements to sports facilities are not usually funded either. Read the exclusions carefully before you apply. Everybody Foundation Club and Organisation Grants

Everybody Foundation (Everybody Health and Leisure)

Up to £500Health & Social Work, Charities & Non-Profit

The Everybody Foundation offers Club and Organisation Grants of up to £500 to local clubs and community organisations. The grants help groups facing short-term challenges or pressures, so that young people can keep taking part in sport, physical activity and wellbeing. You can use the funding for hardship funds for young people, essential equipment or replacement items, and costs that help keep activities running, safe and accessible. The Foundation says this route is designed to respond quickly and practically to real-world challenges. One past example is Macclesfield Boys Boxing Club, which used a grant to replace worn, unsafe punch bags. The grants must benefit young people under 18, or under 25 if they have special educational needs or a disability (SEND). The Foundation currently focuses on applications from local sporting organisations. If you want to create or top up a hardship fund, your club or organisation must be based in Cheshire East. You apply online. The Foundation's Trustees meet quarterly to review and score applications, and grants go to the highest-scoring applications until the funds are committed. The Foundation aims to contact you within one week of the Trustees meeting. Keep in mind that successful applicants are asked to provide proof of purchase or a short update afterwards. If your application succeeds, you can apply once per financial year. If it does not, you can reapply with more information. The Foundation is funded through community fundraising and donations. It also runs separate routes for individual support and a larger annual Impact Grant, so make sure you choose the correct route when you apply. Cheshire PCC SWAP Fund 2026

Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner

Up to £2,500Charities & Non-Profit

The SWAP Fund from the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) offers grants of up to £2,500 to help make communities across Cheshire safer. SWAP stands for Safety, Working together, Action and Prevention. The fund helps communities come together to reduce crime, prevent anti-social behaviour and help people feel safer. This is the third year that the PCC, Dan Price, has run the fund, and £50,000 is available in total. The fund suits charities, community groups and local organisations working in Cheshire. PCC community funding can support projects that make a positive difference in neighbourhoods, such as activities that help young people stay safe or reduce anti-social behaviour. It can also back partnership work between charities, community groups and local authorities. Prevention and early help is another focus, including mentoring, diversion activities for young people and awareness raising. Support for people affected by crime also counts, such as crime prevention advice or victim support activities. The application window is open now. The deadline is 9am on Monday 30 November 2026. Note the morning cut-off. If you plan to apply on the final day, you will have very little time, so aim to send your application earlier. Applications are subject to the fund criteria. The PCC aligns all funding decisions with the priorities in the Police and Crime Plan. Progress is monitored using clear, measurable outcomes, so think about how you will show the difference your project makes to local people. Liverpool City Region Community Environment Fund 2026/27

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority

£1,000 - £30,000Environment & Conservation

The Liverpool City Region Community Environment Fund is back for 2026-27 and is open now. It helps communities turn their ideas into action, creating greener, healthier and more resilient places for everyone. The fund supports community-led environmental projects. Your project could bring a neglected green space back to life, create better habitats for wildlife, help people grow or access local food, reduce energy use, encourage greener ways to travel or help people learn about climate change. The Combined Authority wants to hear from projects covering climate change and resilience, transport and active travel, water sustainability, accessible green spaces and biodiversity, carbon and environmental literacy, energy efficiency, and food sustainability. There are two grant streams. Grants of £1,000 to £4,999 are for smaller community projects and activities that can make a positive difference to the local environment. Grants of £5,000 to £30,000 are for larger projects that can deliver more substantial environmental and community benefits. The fund suits not-for-profit community groups and organisations, such as charities, schools, faith groups, residents' associations and 'Friends of' groups. It has already backed more than a hundred local projects, including community gardens, beekeeping, wildflower meadows and a cycling project for veterans. Before you apply, think carefully about which stream fits your project. The Combined Authority asks you to consider what you want to achieve, the activities you need to deliver and what a realistic budget looks like. A webinar explains the fund and what you will need to apply. The closing date is midnight on Monday 30 November 2026, so leave yourself enough time to prepare your application. Macclesfield Town Council Community Grants

Macclesfield Town Council

Up to £2,000Charities & Non-Profit

Macclesfield Town Council offers community grants to help local groups and activities in the town. The money can support a local event for adults or children, help people who might otherwise feel excluded, put on a festival or event, or buy equipment needed for an activity. There are three levels of grant. Micro grants of up to £100 are for small start-up ideas, either one-off projects or the start of a longer-term idea. Small grants are up to £250 and large grants are up to £2,000. Recent awards have paid for scout equipment, food pantry supplies, inclusive circus events, friendship groups and new sports kits. The scheme suits community groups and organisations running not-for-profit activities in Macclesfield that are open to all and benefit the town or its people. Micro grant ideas need to fit in with the town council's themes. Micro grant applications can be considered at any time. For small and large grants, the deadline is 9am on Friday 8 January 2027. The Finance Committee will make its decisions at a meeting on Monday 8 February 2027 at 7pm. One practical point: if you apply for a small or large grant, you will be asked to attend the Finance Committee meeting to introduce your application and answer questions. If you would like guidance, or want the council to look at a draft first, you must get in touch at least one month before the deadline. You can talk your idea through with Assistant Town Clerk Helena Gowler on 07593 535 784. Official source: https://www.macclesfield-tc.gov.uk/community/community-grants/. Peak District Community Nature Fund

Peak District National Park Foundation

£500 - £5,000Environment & Conservation

The Peak District Foundation's Community Nature Fund supports projects that create, improve or expand spaces for nature inside the Peak District National Park. The foundation is happy to back all kinds of work that helps wildlife and biodiversity. Examples include creating wildflower meadows, planting hedgerows or trees, building or restoring ponds, and putting up bird or bat boxes. Grants range from £500 to £5,000. The money goes towards the specific costs of delivering your project. That can include hiring or buying tools, equipment and materials. It can also cover professional contractors where there is a clear and justifiable need. The fund will not pay for general running costs, such as overheads or core staff salaries. The fund suits parish councils, schools, charities and community groups working to help nature locally. Individual landowners can apply too, as long as the project is not-for-profit and clearly benefits nature. Your project must take place within the National Park boundary. Sites already managed or protected for nature, such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest or nature reserves, cannot be funded. The next deadline is 29 January 2027. You will hear the outcome by 26 February 2027. Earlier rounds this year closed on 5 June and 25 September 2026. Competition is strong. The foundation receives far more applications than it can fund, so an eligible project is not guaranteed a grant. In the last year, around two thirds of applicants received an award. If you are successful, you must complete a short evaluation form and maintain anything bought or built with the grant for at least five years.
