Charnwood Small Community Grants 2026/27

Charnwood Borough Council

Up to £750Health & Social Work, Charities & Non-Profit

Charnwood Borough Council's Small Community Grants offer up to £750 to properly constituted voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations working in Charnwood. You can use a grant for running costs or for projects lasting up to one year. Environmental projects are also welcome, as are one-off contributions towards equipment for projects with community benefit. The council gives priority to community-based services, projects and activities that improve the lives, health and wellbeing of vulnerable and disadvantaged people and communities in Charnwood. Requests that ease the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on VCS organisations, and on the people they support, are of particular interest. The programme opened on 2 March 2026. It stays open until Friday 6 November 2026, or until the money runs out, whichever comes first. You can apply at any time before then. This is a fast-track scheme. The council aims to assess, approve and pay a grant within 25 working days of receiving a complete application with all supporting documents. You should therefore apply at least 25 working days before any planned activity or event. One practical point: the online form cannot be saved and reopened, and it times out at midnight. Read the form preview and the guidance notes first, then gather your answers and supporting documents before you start. The council also advises applying early rather than waiting for the deadline, so there is time to ask you for more information if needed. Hinckley & Bosworth Making a Difference Grant

Hinckley & Bosworth VCS Partnership (Rural Community Council)

£501 - £3,000Charities & Non-Profit, Environment & Conservation

The Making a Difference Grant offers community grants of between £501 and £3,000 for charities and community groups in Hinckley & Bosworth Borough. You can use it to kickstart a new project or to boost the impact of your group's work. Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council funds it, and the RCC administers it as part of the Hinckley & Bosworth VCS Partnership. It is designed as a quick and easy way to apply for a small grant. A wide range of community projects can apply, but the partnership has four priorities. The first is projects that give young people engaging, positive and creative opportunities, such as youth groups, sport, arts or music. The second is projects that tackle climate change. The third is practical, emotional or social support for families of children or adults with learning disabilities (LD) or special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The fourth is work that brings diverse groups together and builds stronger community ties. The partnership is especially keen on projects that reduce loneliness and social isolation. The grant is open now. Applications are judged in quarterly rounds, and each round has its own panel meeting. The next deadline is 25 November 2026, with the panel meeting on 9 December 2026. The Quarter 4 round then closes on 17 February 2027, with a panel meeting on 3 March 2027. One practical point: you apply by email, not through an online form. Download the application form and checklist from the grant page. Then complete them and email your application to the RCC. If you need help with your form, the Voluntary & Community Sector team is there to support you. Ward Community Grant

Leicester City Council

Funding amount not listedCharities & Non-Profit

The Ward Community Grant from Leicester City Council offers small amounts of funding for projects that benefit the local community. It is linked to the council's community meetings, which take place three times a year in each ward. Community meetings let residents talk to the council and work with other agencies, such as the police and the NHS, to identify local issues and improve their neighbourhoods. All ward residents are welcome to attend. The meetings are also where wards can apply for funding for local projects. This grant suits residents who have an idea for a local project that would make a difference in their own ward. Going along to your ward meeting is a good first step, as the funding sits alongside these discussions about local priorities. The council has a guide to ward funding in PDF format, which is worth reading before you apply. You can start an application through the apply link on the community meetings page. The page also has a ward funding evaluation form, so there is a clear way to report on how a funded project went. Because funding is offered at each meeting, your timing depends on when your ward's next community meeting takes place. Blaby District Council Community Grants

Blaby District Council

Up to £5,000Health & Social Work, Charities & Non-Profit, Environment & Conservation

Blaby District Council's Community Grants help community groups, sports clubs and charities improve facilities or run activities. There are five types of funding, and you use the same application form for all of them. Capital Green grants of up to £5,000 pay for eco-friendly projects, with 20% match funding. Large Capital grants of up to £5,000 cover building work or equipment, with 50% match funding. Small Capital grants of up to £500 cover equipment or start-up costs. Revenue grants of up to £500 cover running costs or events. Everyone Active grants of up to £500 support health and wellbeing projects. The three smaller grants need no match funding. Past awards include £5,000 for solar panels on a village hall, £5,000 for a rainwater harvesting system at a cricket club, and £500 towards a Christmas lunch for older people who would otherwise be alone. The council runs four grant rounds each year. The next deadline is 5pm on Friday 4 December 2026, and the one after that is 5pm on Friday 5 March 2027. The grant panel meets two weeks after each deadline. You should hear the decision by email around three weeks after the deadline. You can hold one grant at a time, and the council usually funds an organisation only once every two years. It may fund more often for projects that tackle special priorities such as climate change and the cost of living. Have your constitution, equality policy, bank statements for all accounts and most recent accounts ready, because the council cannot look at your application without them. At the end of the project you will need to report on how the money helped, send receipts and show how you mentioned the council's support. North West Leicestershire Small Grant Scheme

North West Leicestershire District Council

Up to £500Charities & Non-Profit

North West Leicestershire District Council's Small Grant Scheme offers up to £500 to help local voluntary and community groups bring new ideas to life. The 2026-27 round is listed as launching on 1 April 2026. You can use the money for a new project, or to buy one-off items or equipment that will strengthen your services, help your group grow or improve what you offer the community. The council welcomes brand new activities, expansions of existing work and trials of fresh ideas, as long as they benefit residents of North West Leicestershire. It suits non-profit groups working in the district, including constituted clubs and societies, registered charities and social enterprises. You do not need match funding. If your project costs more than the grant, you must show evidence of the other funding. The deadline is 1 March 2027, but the scheme may close sooner once the funds are allocated. Applications that arrive after the deadline will not be reviewed until the week starting 29 March 2027. One important caveat: the grant only pays for new items and activities. It cannot cover replacing equipment you already have, and it will not fund anything that has already taken place. If you are successful, you will need to complete monitoring forms, send receipts and photographs, and mention NWL Small Grants in your publicity, including press releases and social media posts. If you do not run the project or provide monitoring information, the council may reclaim the money and may not consider future applications. You can only receive one Small Grant each year. The council provides an ideas guide and a copy of the application questions to help you plan. Official source: https://www.nwleics.gov.uk/pages/grants. Last checked by GrantMatch on 28 October 2026.

North West Leicestershire Environment and Zero Carbon Grants

North West Leicestershire District Council

£50 - £1,000Environment & Conservation

North West Leicestershire District Council offers Environment and Zero Carbon Grants of £50 to £1,000. They pay for simple, practical community projects that protect or improve the local environment or reduce carbon impact. The council gives examples of what it likes to fund. These include energy-efficiency upgrades to buildings, such as LED lighting or roof insulation, and schemes that encourage cycling and walking. Green space work is welcome too, such as community orchards, wildflower meadows, and tree or hedge planting. You could also ask for equipment for composting, recycling or litter picking, or for projects that boost biodiversity. The grants suit charities and community groups, social enterprises, and town and parish councils in North West Leicestershire. Your project must benefit residents of the district only. You must put in cash match funding of £50 to £1,000, so your project needs a total value of at least £100. In-kind support does not count as match funding. You must deliver the project within 12 months. The deadline is 1 March 2027, but the scheme may close sooner if the money is all allocated, so applying early is sensible. Applications that arrive after the deadline will not be reviewed until the week commencing 29 March 2027. If you receive a grant, you will need to complete the council's monitoring forms, send receipts and photographs, and credit the grant in your publicity. If you do not run the project or provide monitoring information when asked, the council may reclaim the money and may not consider your future applications. North West Leicestershire Community Lottery Grant

North West Leicestershire District Council

Up to £1,500Arts, Entertainment & Recreation, Charities & Non-Profit, Environment & Conservation

North West Leicestershire District Council offers small grants to local voluntary and community groups. The money comes from players of the NWL Community Lottery. The Community Lottery Central Fund raised £25,000 in the last year, and the council is now sharing it out through the Community Lottery Grant. You can apply for up to £1,500. This is double last year's maximum of £750, and the council has widened the themes so more organisations can benefit. Match funding is not required. However, if your project costs more than the grant, you must show evidence of the other funding. Your project must link to one of this year's four themes: Arts, Culture and Creativity; Health and Wellbeing; Environment and Sustainability; or Sense of Community and Civic Pride. The fund supports new projects and new equipment. It suits constituted groups, registered charities and social enterprises that are based in North West Leicestershire and work only for local residents. Groups that are Good Causes on the NWL Community Lottery are also welcome to apply. Applications are open from 1 September 2026 until 31 August 2027. The fund may close earlier if all the money is allocated, so it is worth applying sooner rather than later. The council aims to make a decision within six weeks of receiving your application. One practical point: you cannot ask for money for an activity or project that has already taken place. You can also only receive one NWL Community Lottery grant this year.
