Small grants of up to £1,500 support creative, cultural and heritage projects in Wakefield district. The next published deadline is Monday 9 November 2026; no closing time is stated. - Food and refreshments may be no more than 10% of the request, and equipment hire or purchase has a separate 10% limit. Match funding is not required.
- No retrospective activity, capital building work, alcohol, unrelated core costs, charity fundraising events, repeat projects previously funded by Culture Grants, or top-ups to ongoing projects. Successful recipients cannot receive a second Culture Grant in the same financial year.
Constituted community groups, charities, CICs and other VCSE organisations with a registered address in Wakefield district. Parish and town councils can also apply under the guidance. Individuals and businesses cannot apply to Small grants. Groups need at least three unrelated trustees, directors or committee members without significant individual control; governing rules with a dissolution clause or asset lock; an organisation bank account with two unrelated signatories and dual authorisation; and accounts or income and expenditure records. Public liability insurance and relevant safeguarding are required.
