Overview
EPSRC standard research grants are the main responsive mode route for researchers at eligible UK research organisations, in any area of EPSRC's engineering and physical sciences remit. There is no limit on the grant value or project length; you ask for what the research needs. EPSRC funds 80% of the full economic cost, covering staff, equipment of up to £400,000 per item, impact activity, travel and other project costs. Awards over £3 million have a fixed start date. There is no closing date: EPSRC batches applications for panels as they arrive. Official source: https://www.ukri.org/opportunity/epsrc-standard-research-grant-nov-2023-responsive-mode/. Requirements to check
You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for EPSRC funding, and EPSRC's standard eligibility rules apply. Check UKRI's individual eligibility and new role types for the Funding Service. A project co-lead (international) can only be based in Norway, under the UKRI and Research Council of Norway Money Follows Cooperation agreement. Uninvited resubmissions of projects submitted to UKRI or any other funder are not accepted.
This summary may not include every exclusion. Check the full eligibility rules, including who and what the funder will not support.

Full details from Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC)
You can apply for a research grant in any area within the remit of Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).You must be based at an eligible UK research organisation.
Apply on the UKRI Funding Service. You cannot use Je-S, and your organisation must be registered. Select Start application on the UKRI funding finder page, confirm you are the project lead, then sign in or create a Funding Service account. The project lead completes the application, with input from the team and any project partners, then sends it to the research office, which submits it to UKRI. Only the lead research organisation can submit. EPSRC no longer publishes closing dates for responsive mode: it batches applications internally and sends them to the next suitable panel, so apply when your application is ready. A closing date shown on the Funding Service is a system requirement, not a deadline to wait for.
