Transferable Audio-Visual Equipment on Rail Replacement Coaches
The Department for Transport
The Department for Transport is offering up to £2 million to help coach operators buy audio-visual equipment for rail replacement services. The grant covers up to 75% of the cost of purchasing transferable equipment. This includes things like next stop announcements, so disabled passengers get clear journey information. From 1 August 2026, rail replacement coaches must provide audible and visible passenger information by law. The scheme runs for six months or until the money runs out. Applications close on 18 December 2026.
