Help the Homeless

Community Leadership Fund
Peterborough City Council
The Community Leadership Fund gives each of Peterborough's 60 city councillors £1,000 per year to support local community projects. You can get up to £1,000 for schemes that improve your local area. Projects should help with economic, social or environmental improvements in Peterborough. You must contact your local city councillor directly to ask for support. The deadline is 31 December 2025. This funding is only for organisations and community groups in Peterborough. Your project should align with the city's priorities and benefit your local ward.

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
Capital Grants help farmers and land managers in England pay for environmental work on farms, woodlands, and rural land. Small molecule high throughput screen using AstraZeneca facilities

This grant funds researchers to run a high throughput screen using AstraZeneca's compound library and screening robots. High throughput screening is a method used in drug discovery to test thousands of chemical compounds quickly. The Medical Research Council offers two funding opportunities per year. You can apply for up to £270,000.
Free Trees for Schools and Communities
Woodland Trust
The Woodland Trust gives free native tree packs to schools, local authorities, and not-for-profit community groups. Packs come in sizes of 15, 30, 105, or 420 saplings. You can request up to four packs, but no more than 420 trees in total. Species mixes suit different goals, including hedgerows, wildlife habitat, and urban greening. Trees are delivered in March and November each year. Applications for the November 2026 delivery are open now and close in August 2026.
Forest Creation Grant

This grant helps landowners and tenants plant trees and create woodland. It is for land within the National Forest or close to its boundary. Active Communities Fund

Grants range from £100,000 to £5,000,000. The deadline to apply is 4 February 2027. This is not a research grant. It is specifically for collaboration and partnership work between higher education institutions.
Remediation Enforcement Support Fund
Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government
The Remediation Enforcement Support Fund provides £5,000 to £100,000 for local authorities and fire and rescue authorities in England. The money helps you get legal advice to pursue people responsible for fixing dangerous buildings. This is about making building owners pay for repairs they should do. You can use the funding to hire lawyers and legal experts. The deadline to apply is 1 March 2027. Only local authorities and fire and rescue authorities can apply. This funding helps you take legal action against building owners who won't fix safety problems.
Visa Fees Reimbursement Scheme for Scale Ups

Commissioned Rehabilitative Services General Grant Scheme

People and Research
Historic England

The second covers research into the historic environment, including conservation science, surveys, publications, archives, and guidance toolkits. Grants range from £250 to £300,000. You must be based in or working in England. The deadline to apply is 1 April 2027.
