Listings last checked 21 October 2026. Guide checked 21 October 2026.

These are the UK grants on GrantMatch with a closing date in the next 31 days. Grants that close within a week are at the end of the list, because a week is rarely long enough to prepare a good bid. Everything else is in date order.

We leave out academic research calls. For grants with no closing date at all, see the page of grants open all year.

Guide

Checked 21 October 2026 against the official sources linked.

Can you make the deadline?

Even a small grant can take a couple of weeks to apply for well, because you may need quotes, a budget, letters of support or a partner on board. If you cannot do it properly in time, it is often better to wait for the next round. Many funders run the same programme every year.

Check the exact closing time

Many funds close at midday or 5pm rather than midnight, and some need you to register on an online portal before you can start the form. Registration can take a few days, so do it as soon as you decide to apply.

Grants with no deadline

Many grants have no fixed closing date and decide applications through the year. They suit groups that need time to plan, and they take away the pressure of a deadline. Our always open page lists them.

Hear about rounds early

Deadlines move and new rounds open every week. A free GrantMatch account emails you when grants that match your organisation open, so you hear about them with time to apply rather than in the last few days.

Bath & West Community Energy Fund

Quartet Community Foundation

Up to £5,000South West England

The Bath & West Community Energy Fund gives grants of up to £5,000 to community projects in Bath and the surrounding area that cut carbon emissions or tackle fuel poverty. The money comes from Bath & West Community Energy (BWCE), a community enterprise that develops community-owned renewable energy, and Quartet Community Foundation runs the grants. Carbon reduction is not limited to energy projects. It can include local food, sustainable transport, waste reduction or any other activity that reduces emissions. The fund receives fewer applications about fuel poverty and affordable warmth, so it particularly welcomes them. Money is limited: in the 2025 round, 25% of applications were successful. The current round opened on 25 September 2026 and closes at 1pm on 29 October 2026. Decisions are emailed within eight weeks of the closing date. HMGCC Co-Creation Challenge: AI-enhanced x-ray imaging for bomb disposal

Innovate UK Business Connect

Up to £60,000England

HMGCC Co-Creation, the government engineering partnership behind national security challenges, wants a machine-learning solution that helps engineers identify and understand electronic components using only x-ray images. Bomb disposal operatives sometimes use x-rays to find the electronic trigger of a suspected explosive device, which is hard when circuits are complex, images are unclear, or tripwires and anti-tamper measures are present. This is a funded 12-week challenge, run as a contract. The total budget is up to £60,000 excluding VAT, and up to two proposals may be funded. HMGCC pays for time and materials, overheads and other indirect costs, and successful teams must deliver a demonstrator at Technology Readiness Level 5 within the project. Relevant skills include applied research, AI, computer vision, data science, machine learning, non-destructive testing and software development. No security clearance is needed. Applications opened on 28 September 2026 and close on 29 October 2026. European Space Agency: Space For Sustainable Industry and Digital Business Transformation

Innovate UK Business Connect

Funding amount not listedEngland

This European Space Agency contest connects companies building space-enabled services with large industry partners who have real problems to solve. The challenge owners are Coca-Cola, P&G, Galp and Tomorrowland/Love Tomorrow. You respond to one of their published challenges by proposing a six-month Proof-of-concept Study. The challenges cover water resilience, security and enterprise risk, renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing, consumer insight, temporary-city operations, mobility, logistics and immersive experiences. Topics include, but are not limited to, water resilience, environmental stewardship, digital twins, immersive experiences, sustainable logistics and supply chains, and consumer insights. Winning teams are offered a Cooperative Agreement to carry out their proposed study. They also get direct access to the corporate partners. This lets you test your solution against real operational needs and move towards commercial adoption, with the partners acting as both challenge owners and potential customers. The call opened on 17 September 2026 and closes on 30 October 2026 at 4:00pm. The page does not state an award value. Teams must be based in one of the listed ESA-eligible countries, which include the United Kingdom. UK teams from every region of the UK can apply. One practical point to plan for. Your application must respond directly to one of the published challenges, or it will not be considered. You will also need Written Authorisation for ESA funding from the National Delegation of each country where your industrial partners are located. This is needed for the Full Proposal, and the page strongly advises contacting the delegations as soon as possible. EIT Culture & Creativity: Innovation Projects 2026

Innovate UK Business Connect

Funding amount not listedEngland

EIT Culture & Creativity is backing close-to-market innovations that are ready to move from TRL 7 to full market deployment. The call covers three sectors. In architecture, it looks at circular construction, climate adaptation and socially inclusive design. In audio-visual media, it looks at responsible AI, IP monetisation and European competitiveness. In fashion, it looks at circularity, digitalisation and competitiveness. The process has two stages. At stage 1, you submit a short proposal setting out your innovation concept, your TRL 7 maturity, and early market, IP and regulatory considerations. Up to 30 companies are then selected to receive a fixed lump sum of €20,000. You use it to build a Business Development Plan covering market validation, IP and regulatory mapping, and a commercialisation strategy. At stage 2, you submit that plan with a full project proposal. Up to 11 projects can then receive up to 70% of eligible costs, to a maximum of €900,000 per project over 18 months. You must cover the remaining costs yourselves. Funding at this point includes Revenue Sharing or SAFE mechanisms. UK companies are eligible. Stage 1 suits a single startup, scale-up, SME or larger company working in or serving these sectors. Universities, research organisations and cultural institutions cannot apply on their own. The call opened on 25 September 2026 and closes at 5pm on 30 October 2026. One practical point: stage 2 needs a consortium of two to three organisations, including a commercialisation partner. The page encourages you to find that partner early. If you need help forming a consortium, you can contact Innovate UK Business Connect's Global or Creative Industries teams. iX Challenge - Vibration monitoring of offshore wind turbine foundations during construction and commissioning

Innovate UK Business Connect

Funding amount not listedEngland

This is an Innovation Exchange challenge run by Innovate UK Business Connect for ScottishPower Renewables (SPR). SPR wants a simple, low-cost, standalone device that logs vibration inside the transition piece of an offshore wind turbine foundation. It should record on its own from foundation installation until the turbine is commissioned and permanent monitoring takes over. The device must work without turbine or grid power or live data links. It must suit both monopile and jacket foundations and store time stamped data for at least six months. Technicians will collect the data by hand, then the units will be recovered and reused on the next project. SPR plans to fit one to every foundation, so low cost at volume matters more than the price of a single unit. Cables are out of scope. There is no cash grant. Successful applicants will get the chance to pitch to SPR. Selected solutions may be benchmarked on an operational wind farm alongside existing monitoring instruments, with possible further adoption if trials go well. The page says this is not guaranteed and is solely at SPR's discretion. The challenge opened on 15 September 2026 and closes at 11:59pm on 30 October 2026. Finalists will be selected and notified on 30 November 2026. One practical point: the application form asks for company information and three answers of up to 300 words each, so allow time to write them clearly. Who can apply: Not-for-profit community groups, registered charities, social enterprises and town and parish councils delivering projects in East Lindsey District. Centre of Excellence Phase 2: Sector Capability, Capacity and Skills

Department for Education

Up to £5.8mEngland, Wales

The Department for Education is looking for a supplier, or a consortium, to run Phase 2 of the Centre of Excellence for Children's Social Care (CSC) Data and Digital. This listing covers the Sector Capability, Capacity and Skills strand. In 2025, the department appointed a consortium to scope and design the Centre. That was Phase 1. The consortium spoke with local authorities and wider sector stakeholders to identify opportunities, challenges and risks in CSC data and digital work. It then produced recommendations and a delivery plan to support delivery and scale-up. Phase 2 is about putting that plan into action. The Centre will help local authorities improve their data and digital maturity in relation to children's social care services. The successful supplier or consortium will deliver the action and delivery plan from Phase 1. This suits organisations, or groups of organisations working together, that can deliver at that level for local authorities. The page does not state an award amount. The application window opened on 2 October 2026. It closes at 11:59pm on 30 October 2026, so there are two weeks left from today. One practical point: the page itself gives very little detail on eligibility and how to apply. It points you to the application pack and the published documents, so you will need those to understand the full requirements before you start an application. Official source: https://www.find-government-grants.service.gov.uk/grants/centre-of-excellence-phase-2---sector-capability-capacity-and-skills-1. Last checked by GrantMatch on 16 October 2026.

Deadline

Caithness Futures Fund

Foundation Scotland

Up to £20,000Scotland

Caithness Futures Fund supports community groups in Caithness that are delivering on the Caithness Area Place Plan. The plan was shaped through community consultation, so the fund reflects what local people say they need. You can apply for up to £20,000 a year. That can be for a one-off project or for multi-year funding of up to 10 years. The page says large grants or multi-year awards are more likely to be supported than smaller, short-term projects. In 2026 the main priority is Health and Wellbeing. Employability is a secondary priority, through the Caithness Futures Education and Training Fund. The health and wellbeing themes in the plan include access to GP appointments and dentists, mental health support (including for young people), care-at-home services, help for groups such as young carers and people affected by drug and alcohol issues, tackling poverty and inequality, and better community spaces such as halls, libraries and sports facilities. Groups and organisations working to benefit people in Caithness can apply. You do not need to be a registered charity. You can apply more than once, but it helps to say which application matters most to you. The fund is paid for by RWE's Camster II Wind Farm, with a first annual donation of £160,000, index-linked for the life of the wind farm. The application deadline is 31 October 2026. Awards should show long-term impact, evidence of community support and care for the environment. A panel of local volunteers makes the decisions. Supporting documents must be sent with your application. Official source: https://www.foundationscotland.org.uk/apply-for-funding/funding-available/caithness-futures-fund. Deadline

Tannach and District Wind Farm Trust

Foundation Scotland

Up to £25,000Scotland

This fund from Foundation Scotland supports projects that benefit the Tannach and District community in Highland. It is paid for by wind farm donations from Wathegar, Wathegar 2 and Bilbster, and the Trust currently has £169,000 available to give out. You can ask for up to £25,000. Requests for more than that may be considered case by case if you can show significant benefit for the community, but you should contact the funder before applying. Your project must contribute to at least one of the Trust's outcomes. These include more sport and recreation, safer access through settlements, more varied activities and services, a stronger community life, more local economic activity, new vocational skills, valued heritage, more sustainable energy use in homes and community buildings, and more tourism opportunities. You will need to list the measurable activities and outputs you will deliver. The fund can help with feasibility work, salaries, core running costs and up to 100% of project costs. Multi-year awards are usually offered for a maximum of three years. You do not need to be a registered charity. The next deadline is 31 October 2026. The following round closes on 28 February 2027. A local panel of residents recommends awards, and you will usually hear 6-8 weeks after each deadline. One thing to plan for: you must show that you have consulted the people who will benefit and that local groups support your idea. If any item or contract will cost over £30,000, you must also run an open and fair tendering process and send evidence of it with your application. New Communities Resettlement Scheme (Staffordshire)

Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire

Other priority projects, such as health, wellbeing and community links, can ask for £1,000 to £10,000. Work must take place in a Staffordshire district, or online across the county, and be finished by March 2027. Applications are considered as they arrive and close on 31 October 2026, or sooner if the money runs out. Deadline

Halkirk District Benefit Fund

Foundation Scotland

Up to £25,000Scotland

The Halkirk District Benefit Fund gives community benefit grants of up to £25,000 to groups and organisations in the Halkirk District of Highland. It is managed by Foundation Scotland on behalf of a local board of volunteer directors. The money comes from an annual payment from the 21 turbine Causeymire Wind Farm, which is owned and managed by Ventient Energy. The fund backs projects that support sustainable development in the area. That includes community development, recreational activities and facilities, regeneration, education about the environment, culture, heritage or history, better environmental amenities, and buildings or sites of architectural, historic or community importance. The next application deadline is 31 October 2026. Later deadlines are 31 January 2027 and 30 April 2027. Applicants hear the board's decision within two weeks of the board meeting. Unsuccessful applicants get feedback, and all decisions are final. The board looks for evidence that you have consulted the people who will benefit and that the community supports your project. It also encourages partnership working, local suppliers where they offer good value, and a thought-through approach to sustainable development. One practical point: groups without a representative membership structure cannot be supported. That means groups whose committee or board is not elected by, or accountable to, a wider group of people. This page is for groups. Individuals have a separate page. Barchester Charitable Foundation - Group Grants

Barchester Charitable Foundation

£100 - £2,600England, Scotland, Wales

Barchester Charitable Foundation Group Grants help small community groups and small local charities that support older people and adults with a disability or mental health condition. The focus is on connecting, or re-connecting, people with others in their local community. The grants can pay for activity projects, equipment or materials that members use, transport costs so members can attend, and day trips, outings or UK group holidays. Awards range from £100 up to £2,600. You can apply if your group is based in England, Scotland, Wales or Jersey. The foundation opens to group applications in January, April, July and October. The October round is open now. It takes up to 10 weeks to process an application, so plan your project dates with that in mind. The foundation will look closely at your accounts, especially your balance sheet. As a guideline, it is very unlikely to help if your financial reserves are over £200,000. There are clear exclusions. The foundation will not fund core or running costs such as salaries and venue hire, indirect services such as websites or newsletters, building projects, or staff and volunteer training. It will not pay for anything already bought or already held. If you have won a grant, you cannot apply again within three years. The foundation may also cap grants to a single charity, including all its branches, in any one year. Official source: https://bhcfoundation.org.uk/apply/who-we-fund. MOPAC Victims Small Grants Fund 2027 - 2029

London Community Foundation

£20,000 - £200,000London

The MOPAC Victims Small Grants Fund is open for applications through the London Community Foundation. It supports smaller, community-based and specialist organisations that help victims of crime across London. It suits organisations that are embedded in the communities they serve, including groups led by and for people who share a lived experience or identity. It also welcomes specialist organisations that are not led by people with lived experience but have strong community links, relevant expertise and a proven track record. The fund specifically, but not exclusively, wants to extend support for Black and minoritised communities, disabled people, LGBTQI+ people, people with insecure or unknown immigration status, male victim-survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence, children and young people, faith-based communities, people who have experienced hate crime, bereaved families, people involved in prostitution and older people. You can apply for a two-year grant of between £20,000 and £200,000, which works out at £10,000 to £100,000 per year. A total of £2,000,000 is available. Funded activity can start from the week beginning 1 February 2027 and must finish by 31 January 2029. Applications close at 2pm on 2 November 2026. You will need to pass a short online eligibility check before you can reach the full application form. One practical point: there is no income threshold, but organisations with an annual income of less than £500,000 will be prioritised. Deadline

Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in Schools Grant Scheme

Department for Education (DfE)

£10,000 - £1mEngland, North East England, North West England, South East England, South West England

The Department for Education (DfE) is offering grant funding to reduce surface water flood risk at schools in England by installing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS). At its discretion, and where the scheme criteria allow, DfE can fund up to 50% of the total SuDS project costs. You match fund the rest. The grant pays for both the design and the installation of SuDS features on school sites. Projects can be small, such as downpipe planters, or larger schemes with rain gardens, bioretention tree pits, swales and detention basins. You can apply for a stand-alone SuDS project or as part of wider works, but DfE will only contribute to the SuDS part. It suits lead local flood authorities, water companies, non-profit organisations, and state-funded and voluntary aided schools in England. Individual schools thinking of bidding alone are encouraged to talk to their lead local flood authority, local water company or a non-profit organisation about joining a larger bid, because the technical and reporting requirements can be complex. Applications are open now and close at 5:00pm on 2 November 2026. The page gives an estimated total pot of £5 million, which may change with budget. Applicants will hear the outcome by 31 March 2027 at the latest. One practical point to plan for: the grant is paid in arrears only, after work is completed against set milestones. You will need to cover costs up front. Scoring above the 20% minimum threshold does not guarantee funding. Questions

How many UK grants close this month?

GrantMatch lists 172 grants with a deadline in the next 31 days, from 101 funders. 67 of them offer up to £10,000.

What happens if I miss a grant deadline?

Most funders will not accept a late application. Many programmes open again in a later round, so make a note of the funder and check back, or set up an alert.

Why are the grants closing this week at the bottom?

Because a few days is rarely enough to prepare a strong bid. They are still listed, after the grants with more time left.

Are research grants included?

No. Academic research calls are left out of this page. You can find them on the funder pages for each research council.

How do you check these grants?

We collect grants from official funder pages, GOV.UK, councils and community foundations, and remove them when they close. Each grant page links to its source and shows when we last checked it. Always confirm the details with the funder before you apply.
