Capital grant

Scottish Enterprise

From £250,000Scotland

Scottish Enterprise's capital grant helps with the costs of a capital expenditure project. It is a discretionary grant that aims to encourage capital investment and wage growth in Scotland's economy. The funder wants to back projects that support the energy transition, scale up Scotland's innovation strengths in high-growth industries such as life sciences, quantum, FinTech and space, or drive capital investment that boosts productivity. The minimum grant considered is £250,000. The share of eligible costs you can get depends on the size of your business: up to 40% for a small enterprise, up to 30% for a medium enterprise and up to 20% for a large enterprise. The actual award may be lower, because it depends on how much your project needs and the benefits it will deliver. Scottish Enterprise is looking for projects that represent at least £1 million of company spend. In some circumstances, some or all of the grant may be repayable. Your business does not need to be based in Scotland, but the project must take place there. Projects should usually last between 6 and 36 months. Companies that receive funding must meet the Scottish Government's Fair Work and net zero criteria, including paying at least the real Living Wage. To start, complete an enquiry form and email it to enquiries@scotent.co.uk. One important caveat: meeting every requirement does not guarantee funding. Scottish Enterprise only backs the projects it judges to have the strongest impact. It will not fund a project your company is already committed to, or one that would go ahead anyway. Inch Cape Construction Fund

Foundation Scotland

£500 - £2,000Scotland

The Inch Cape Construction Fund gives small grants to community projects in East Lothian. It backs work that tackles the effects of poverty and inequality, while improving the environment and supporting sustainability. The money comes from Inch Cape Offshore Limited, the company developing the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, and Foundation Scotland runs the application process. You can ask for between £500 and £2,000. Grants can cover a wide range of costs, such as equipment, staff or sessional workers, consultations, running costs for local groups, and maintenance or refurbishment of community facilities. Your project needs to contribute to at least one outcome: better physical or mental health and wellbeing, less isolation or loneliness, more access to education, learning and employment, a better local environment, or less food or fuel poverty. Projects can benefit children, families, adults or older people. Activities that help people overcome extra challenges, such as disability or discrimination, are especially welcome. The fund suits groups and organisations that benefit residents of the Prestonpans or Cockenzie & Port Seton community council areas. You do not need to be a registered charity, but you must meet the standard eligibility criteria. There is no closing date. Applications are considered on a rolling basis, so you can apply at any time. Decisions usually take six to eight weeks, and you must apply at least four weeks before your project starts. Repeat applications are welcome, as long as each one is for a different project or activity. Hadyard Hill Community Fund (Pinwherry & Pinmore)

Foundation Scotland

£500 - £25,000Scotland

The Hadyard Hill Community Fund supports charitable projects in Pinwherry and Pinmore, South Ayrshire. It is funded by SSE community benefit money from the Hadyard Hill wind farm. Foundation Scotland runs it with a local advisory panel. Standard grants range from £500 to £10,000. Large grants run from over £10,000 up to £25,000. Around £50,000 in total is available each year, although amounts vary from round to round. Awards can cover equipment, running costs for local groups, staff or sessional worker costs, consultations, and the maintenance or refurbishment of community facilities. Projects should support the rural regeneration and sustainability of the area. You do not need to be a registered charity to apply. The panel may give priority to projects that build community leadership, help communities take ownership of assets, bring in match funding, use local suppliers, care for the environment, show local consultation and work in partnership. Groups can apply for more than one grant a year. A separate small grant scheme for awards up to £500 is run by Pinwherry and Pinmore Community Council. Decisions on those are made on a rolling basis. One practical point: the application dates listed on the page are all from 2022, so no current closing date is shown. Pre-application enquiries are welcome, so it is worth talking to the Community Funds Adviser before you start. Cross-pavement charging grant

Energy Saving Trust

Funding amount not listedEngland

The Energy Saving Trust lists a cross-pavement charging grant on its grants and loans page. It describes the grant as funding to help you install cross-pavement charging solutions at home. This page is only a directory of Energy Saving Trust funds. It gives a one-line description of the grant and nothing more. It does not say how much you can get, who is eligible, whether the fund is open, or when it closes. Cross-pavement charging solutions are aimed at people who want to charge an electric vehicle at home. The listing is for home installations, so it is not a workplace or public charge point scheme. The same page lists other Energy Saving Trust schemes, including an electric vehicle pavement channels grant for local authorities in England. That is a separate fund. Make sure you are looking at the right one before you start an application. Because this page is a summary list, you will need the grant's own page on the Energy Saving Trust website for the full rules. Read those rules in full before you apply, so you know whether your home and situation qualify. Official source: https://energysavingtrust.org.uk/listing/grants-and-loans/. Bath & West Community Energy Fund

Quartet Community Foundation

Up to £5,000South West England

The Bath & West Community Energy Fund gives grants of up to £5,000 to community projects in Bath and the surrounding area that cut carbon emissions or tackle fuel poverty. The money comes from Bath & West Community Energy (BWCE), a community enterprise that develops community-owned renewable energy, and Quartet Community Foundation runs the grants. Carbon reduction is not limited to energy projects. It can include local food, sustainable transport, waste reduction or any other activity that reduces emissions. The fund receives fewer applications about fuel poverty and affordable warmth, so it particularly welcomes them. Money is limited: in the 2025 round, 25% of applications were successful. The current round opened on 25 September 2026 and closes at 1pm on 29 October 2026. Decisions are emailed within eight weeks of the closing date.
