The Plug-in Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle Grant helps with the up-front cost of new electric wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs). It is funded by the Department for Transport, and the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) sets the grant levels. Grant rates are up to £2,500 for each eligible vehicle. If you work for a vehicle dealership or manufacturer, you apply for the grant through an online portal. Some WAVs can be sold at a 35% discount. The grant covers new WAVs at first registration. Conversions done before registration can apply. Conversions done after registration cannot. End customers are limited to 20 orders per financial year.
